Experience
Brian has closed commercial real estate transactions of all shapes and sizes. He has represented publicly traded corporations, joint ventures and regional property owners in the recapitalization and refinancing of dozens of seniors housing and multifamily properties across the country. He also handles small matters, like acquiring assemblage parcels for future development. Whatever the deal, his focus is the same: give excellent client service, offer creative and practical solutions when issues come up, and close each transaction in the way that gets his client the best result.
A significant part of Brian’s practice is representing owners of senior living facilities. He has closed numerous acquisitions, dispositions, refinancings and recapitalizations of senior living properties. That experience helps him spot and address the issues specific to senior housing deals, so the transaction avoids unnecessary delay or disruption.
Brian represents clients through every phase of owning commercial property. That starts with creating the legal framework for the ownership entity and continues through purchase and acquisition financing, development and construction, lease-up and permanent financing, recapitalization and refinancing and, finally, the sale. Leasing office, retail, medical and light industrial space is also a significant part of his day-to-day work. He represents both landlords and tenants, and seeing both sides of the table helps his clients resolve difficult issues with minimal delay. Brian also has experience in wetland and stream mitigation banking.
Brian earned his Juris Doctor from the College of William & Mary School of Law, where he served as the Executive Editor of the Law Review. Brian received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Richmond.
Brian is married with two active children, and he’s a reluctant runner.
